Long time no see.. :(
Haven't quite had the time to update this blog - been rather busy with my other blog. :D
So, please pardon me... ;)

Mainan baru: PUPE!!!

Yap! Ada mainan baru lagi sekarang!

Namanya poupee - atau pupe. Mainan yang membuat saya sampai betah tinggal di kantor sampai jam 8 malam. Hanya untuk main-main yang tidak terlalu jelas. :) Lihat saja saat ini. Saya dan Teph duduk manis bersebelahan, sambil saling menggumam tentang pupe lain yang lucu, jepit rambut yang harganya 4000 ribbons, atau kebingungan yang kita alami sebagai newbie di pupe.

Kenapa kita bisa ketagihan, ada beberapa penyebabnya.

Pertama: ini mengingatkan kami akan masa kecil dulu. Ingat nggak, dulu waktu masih TK, di depan sekolah pasti ada mas-mas yang berjualan mainan jaman dulu? Ada balon karet yang bisa ditiup, ada buih sabun dan gagang peniupnya *bingung menjelaskannya...*, dan ada boneka kertas dengan berbagai macam baju yang bisa dipotong dan dipasangkan ke si boneka kertas itu. Seperti ini:

Kedua: ini membuat kita merasa sudah mengaktualisasikan dan mengekspresikan diri dengan sepenuhnya. Dalam berpakaian, misalnya. Tidak perlu khawatir bajunya tidak terlihat bagus ketika dipakai, atau tidak matching warnanya, atau perutnya kurang kurus untuk potongan baju itu. Yang penting dipakai saja. Oh, dan sedikit mix and watch would be nice. :)

Ketiga: ini membuat kita merasa sudah berbelanja berbagai macam baju dan aksesori tanpa perlu mengeluarkan uang sepeser pun. Yang perlu dikeluarkan hanya "ribbon". Tapi sayangnya, karena perlu mengeluarkan ribbon, maka juga harus mencari ribbon. Jadi bersamaan dengan mencoba dan membeli berbagai macam item itu, harus ada usaha untuk mengumpulkan ribbon. Berjalan-jalan ke rumah pupe lain, meninggalkan komentar, atau mengunggah foto dari koleksi pribadi kita sendiri. Seru sekali!

Keempat: karena ada sedikit unsur pertemanan dan persaingan. Suatu hal yang sangat disukai oleh orang Indonesia. Kita bisa berteman, saling melihat koleksi baju orang lain, memberi komentar, iri atas koleksi orang lain yang mewah dan bagus-bagus. A good element combined to make a girl being sweet and envious at the same time. :)

It depends...

So, this is the first time I've been to Potato Head, one of the *so it is said* hippest places in the city of Jakarta. Located on the Ground Floor of Pacific Place, Potato Head has a mix of antique/effortless classy-modern feel. I was there during lunch hour, and there were many bules there - indicating that the place is somewhat a favorite among the Jakartan foreigners. As a matter of fact, half of my companions were bules as well. :)

The atmosphere is relaxed, but still somehow elegant. Perhaps it's the people who were there that creates such atmosphere. They have the 3 parts - the terrace, the inside restaurant, and the mezzanine. The terrace is a bit hot during a hot afternoon, but otherwise quite cool. If you like some wind breezing and laid back sofas, you may like it here. The inside part of the restaurant is nice as well, but I think my favorite is the part where we sat - the mezzanine. To go up to the mezzanine, you can take the ramp or the stairs. It's cozier up there, and on the far end of the mezzanine there is a table that is more private for 6-12 people.

As for the food, I had Philly Steak Sandwich with Mashed Potato, and an appetizer of Nori-wrapped Prawn with Chili Sauce. The sandwich was really nice, unlike any other sandwich I've had before! It's a french baguette with a filling of thin-sliced beef and mushroom marinated with spices. The beef tasted almost similar to korean BBQ, minus the sauce. It was juicy and soft and it was good...

The prawn was also good, quite cute because the prawn was wrapped in nori and springroll-skin, and then deep fried. The chili sauce enhances the Asian taste. :)

The average price for the main courses are around IDR 75k - 90k. Some goes below, and some above. The food presentation is really nice - mine was not on a plate but on a wooden plank! All in all, I think it's quite a good deal to dine here after you got your pay check, or one day before you get your pay check. ;)

so, a masquarade party is on?

Yess!!! It is sooo on!!

Hopefully before the end of the month there will be a report on the masquerade party.

It is actually an office event, but it will carry a masquerade theme. So the past week we've been busy finding inspiration and getting properties. Finally, today showed some progress: there were masks at the office!!

On the side bar is me wearing the mask, and here is how it looks in brighter lighting.. ;)

What? Already?
But, oh yes, dear me... Already.

I have to start looking for a venue. And catering. And whatever, and everything. And what not. Argh.
